It's Time to Stop Being Lukewarm

"So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth." — Revelation 3:16

Those are not soft words. They are a warning. A direct, urgent, unmistakable call from God Himself to His people: choose a side.

This Testimony Tuesday, we're not here to make you comfortable. We're here to make you bold.

We Are in a Spiritual Battle

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." — Ephesians 6:12

Look around. The world is not simply struggling with political division, cultural confusion, or moral decay. Those are symptoms. The root is spiritual. There is a very real battle happening in the unseen realm — and every single one of us is in the middle of it whether we acknowledge it or not.

The enemy doesn't need you to become his enemy. He just needs you to stay neutral. Lukewarm. Comfortable. Distracted.

A lukewarm Christian is not a threat to darkness. But a bold, on-fire, truth-seeking believer? That changes everything.

What Does Lukewarm Look Like?

Lukewarm isn't always obvious. It doesn't always look like rebellion. Sometimes it looks like:

  • Going to church on Sunday but living like the world Monday through Saturday
  • Knowing the truth but staying silent to avoid conflict
  • Scrolling past Scripture but spending hours on social media
  • Praying only when things get hard
  • Calling yourself a Christian but never letting it cost you anything

Lukewarm is comfortable. And comfort, unchecked, is dangerous.

Seek the Truth — Relentlessly

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." — Jeremiah 29:13

God doesn't hide from those who truly seek Him. But He does require all of your heart — not half, not the parts that are convenient, not the version of faith that fits neatly into your schedule.

Seeking truth means:

  • Opening your Bible — not just for inspiration quotes, but for transformation
  • Praying with intention — not just reciting words, but truly communing with God
  • Testing everything against Scripture — culture, media, even well-meaning voices
  • Being willing to be wrong — and letting God correct and refine you

A Call to Boldness

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." — 2 Timothy 1:7

You were not created to shrink. You were not saved to stay silent. You were called — by name, with purpose — to be a light in a dark world. That requires boldness. It requires courage. It requires choosing, every single day, to be hot and not lukewarm.

This week, we challenge you:

  • Pray with boldness
  • Speak truth with love
  • Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)
  • Seek Him with everything you have

The battle is real. But so is your God. And He is greater.
